Boil water notice issued for Inishturk customers
Uisce Éireann has announced a Boil Water Notice affecting all customers served by the Inishturk Public Water Supply in County Mayo. This precautionary measure, impacting approximately 41 properties, was necessitated by mechanical difficulties at the water treatment plant on the island.

The notice applies to the entire island, with customers advised to verify their status by entering their property’s Eircode on the Uisce Éireann website or by contacting the 24/7 helpline at 1800 278 278. Affected residents are urged to boil water for drinking, food preparation, and oral hygiene until further notice.

Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann expressed regret for the disruption, emphasising that public health remains the organisation’s top priority. The company is working closely with the Health Service Executive to resolve the issue swiftly and safely. Additional guidance includes boiling water vigorously before use, avoiding consumption of hot tap water, and special precautions for preparing infant formula. Customers are encouraged to stay updated via Uisce Éireann’s website, social media channels, and helpline services.
