Boil water alert for Galbally supply customers
Uisce Éireann, in collaboration with the Health Service Executive (HSE), has issued a boil water notice for all customers served by the Galbally Public Water Supply. This precautionary measure comes after elevated turbidity levels in the raw water source compromised the treatment process at the Galbally Water Treatment Plant.

Approximately 374 customers are impacted and are advised to boil their water before use until further notice. Customers can verify whether their property is affected by entering their Eircode on the Water Quality section of the Uisce Éireann website or by contacting the 24/7 customer care helpline at 1800 278 278. A detailed map of the affected area is also available online.

Drinking water specialists at Uisce Éireann are actively working to resolve the issue in close consultation with the HSE. Eoin O’Connell from Uisce Éireann emphasised that protecting public health is their utmost priority and apologised for the inconvenience caused. Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct notifications. Customers are reminded to boil water thoroughly to ensure safety and to exercise caution to prevent burns or scalds when handling hot water. Regular updates are available via multiple platforms including the official website, social media channels, and a free text alert service by signing up with your Eircode and mobile number.
