Female entrepreneurs and aspiring businesswomen throughout Wicklow are invited to participate in this year’s National Women’s Enterprise Day (NWED), set to take place on Thursday, 15th October. Organised by the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs), the event seeks to inspire and support women in business with a diverse programme that includes successful entrepreneurs and expert speakers addressing innovation, networking, sustainability, and marketing.
The Wicklow NWED will run from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Conference Centre in Clermont House, Rathnew, home to the LEO Offices. Attendees will be welcomed with a light lunch upon arrival, with tickets priced at €15 and available online at www.localenterprise.ie/wicklow. This year’s theme, "Feeling the Fear - Making It Happen," encourages women to embrace challenges and take bold steps towards business growth and innovation.
Keynote speaker Claire Walsh, a freediver, author, podcast host, and breath coach from Wicklow Town, will share her empowering journey of resilience and transformation. The event will also feature a panel including Alice Vignoles of Macha Yoga, Nodlaig Caffrey of Paper Petal Studios, and Cllr. Dr. Caroline Winstanley, Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council. They will discuss how LEO support schemes such as business growth grants and sustainability initiatives have propelled their ventures forward. Organisers emphasise the event's role in fostering community, learning, and empowerment among women entrepreneurs in Wicklow.
