The Office of Public Works (OPW) has finalised the purchase of a prominent office building known as The Guild Building, situated in the heart of Dublin 8. Previously leased by the State, this acquisition ends ongoing rental payments and secures a vital government facility in a prime, accessible area.
Minister of State Kevin "Boxer" Moran welcomed the acquisition, highlighting its alignment with OPW’s strategic asset management goals. The building currently accommodates key public offices and services for two Government Departments, making it an essential hub for public-facing operations.
This investment is expected to recoup its purchase cost in under twelve years through rent savings alone, delivering immediate financial benefits and enabling long-term planning for government workspace. Additionally, owning the property facilitates future enhancements to meet climate action targets, reinforcing the State’s commitment to sustainable asset management.
