Town and village renewal scheme invites ideas
The Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2026 is now accepting Expressions of Interest from community groups, businesses, and local stakeholders eager to contribute to the revitalisation of towns and villages in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development, the scheme aims to strengthen town centres, improve public spaces, enhance local amenities, and bring vacant or derelict buildings back into productive use.

A new element in this year’s programme is a pilot urban town initiative designed to support towns and villages located within larger urban and metropolitan settings. Eligible projects may seek funding through two streams: the Main Scheme or the Project Development Measure, with up to 90% of the total project cost potentially covered.

Interested applicants can access Expression of Interest forms and detailed scheme information on the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council website at dlrcoco.ie. Completed forms should be submitted by email to [email protected] or by post to Town & Village Renewal Scheme, Public Realm, Parks Section, County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, A96 K6C9. The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Monday, 30 November 2026. Late entries will not be considered.
