Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, has launched the 2026 Town and Village Renewal Scheme. Backed by Project Ireland 2040, the initiative directly advances the goals of Our Rural Future and the Town Centre First Policy, aiming to stimulate social and economic regeneration across rural towns and villages since its inception a decade ago.
Financial support is available across two distinct categories to accommodate various stages of local development. The Main Scheme provides grants ranging from €50,000 to €500,000 for comprehensive works, while the Project Development Measure offers a maximum of €50,000 to help local authorities prepare future initiatives.
Interested parties can obtain further information by contacting Bernie O’Rourke via email at [email protected]. The closing date for online applications will be Monday, 19th October 2026 at 12 noon.
