Mount Leinster Rangers seal glorious back to back Carlow titles
Mount Leinster Rangers produced a masterclass under the floodlights at Netwatch Cullen Park, edging out old rivals St Mullin's with a dramatic 3-16 to 1-18 victory to claim back-to-back Carlow Senior Hurling Championship titles. County captain Chris Nolan stole the show with a magnificent personal tally of 3-6, spearheaded by a clinical penalty, a breathtaking solo effort, and a fortunate third strike that ultimately broke St Mullin's stubborn resistance and sealed a historic 13th county crown for the Borris club.

The contest delivered a magnificent spectacle for the supporters in attendance and the live television audience, highlighting the fierce standard of Carlow club hurling between two titans who have contested the last four finals. St Mullin's showed incredible resilience throughout the second half, wiping out a six-point deficit in a frantic final quarter to level the match approaching the hour mark, aided by the prolific scoring of Conor Kehoe and a brilliant goal from the restart.

However, the champions demonstrated their championship mettle in the dying moments, reeling off five unanswered points to seal the victory, with Nolan adding three crucial late scores alongside efforts from Richard Coady and Jamie Nolan. Mount Leinster Rangers will now advance to the AIB Leinster club championship, where they are scheduled to face the Dublin representatives at the quarter-final stage back at Netwatch Cullen Park on November 8.
