St Vincent’s claim fifth Dublin camogie title
The Bill and Agnes Carroll Cup is set to find a new holder this December after Athenry, the reigning AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Camogie champions, were edged out in the Galway semi-final. Oranmore Maree clinched the win by the slimmest margin, 0-15 to 1-11, in a closely contested match at Kilbeacanty on Sunday.

Oranmore Maree will now meet Sarsfields in the final of the Windows and Rooflights Ltd Galway Senior Championship, following Sarsfields’ commanding 4-24 to 0-11 victory over Shamrocks in the other semi-final. Across other counties, decisive county finals wrapped up with the provincial championships scheduled to begin next weekend.

In Dublin, St Vincent’s celebrated a fifth consecutive PTSB Senior Championship triumph with a win over Naomh Jude at Parnell Park last Friday. Meanwhile, Dicksboro successfully defended their Michael Lyng Motors Kilkenny Senior Championship crown by defeating Piltown 1-12 to 0-10. The Dublin and Kilkenny champions will clash in the Leinster semi-final on 7th or 8th November, facing Offaly’s Shinrone and Wexford’s St Martin’s respectively in the other semi-final.

In Munster, Thurles Sarsfields achieved a hurling-camogie double by winning the FBD Insurance Tipperary Senior Championship, overcoming Clonoulty Rossmore 2-11 to 0-15 at Semple Stadium. They await the winner of St Finbarr’s versus Truagh Clonlara in the Munster semi-final. In Ulster, Swatragh claimed the Errigal Group Derry Senior Championship final with a 1-15 to 0-11 victory over Bellaghy and will face Clonduff, who defeated Portaferry in the Canal Court Hotel Down Senior Championship final. Dunloy awaits the winner in the provincial final.

Elsewhere, Camross retained their O’Moore County title in Laois, defeating St Brigid’s in the Hyland Transport Laois Championship final. Na Fianna secured their fifth consecutive Meath championship by beating Kimessan, while Oran progressed past St Dominic’s in the Dermot Hughes Roscommon Senior Championship semi-final and will now face Athleague in the final.
