Laois launches breastfeeding‑friendly business campaign
A week‑long campaign urges hotels, cafés and community centres across Laois to adopt breastfeeding‑friendly practices. Running 1‑7 October, the HSE, Healthy Laois and the Chamber invite venues to sign the agreement and pick up booklets from libraries or the council office.

The county’s “We’re Breastfeeding Friendly Laois” campaign will run from 1 to 7 October, urging businesses, community groups and public venues to create welcoming spaces for nursing mothers and their families.
The initiative is a joint effort by the HSE Health & Improvement Unit, Healthy Laois, Laois Libraries and the Laois Chamber Alliance, aiming to boost health and wellbeing by promoting breastfeeding‑friendly environments in hotels, cafés, sports facilities, health centres and other public premises.
Organisations wishing to join simply complete the agreement form found in the campaign booklet and email it to [email protected]; printed booklets are available at Abbeyleix, Portarlington, Portlaoise and Mountrath libraries, the Chamber’s office in Portlaoise and the county council headquarters on James Fintan Lawlor Avenue.
