Passport Service joins Ireland’s top customer brands
The Passport Service has proudly secured a place among Ireland’s Top 10 customer experience organisations, according to the 2026 CXi Ireland Report. Rising an impressive 25 places to joint ninth, it is the first public sector body ever to achieve such recognition, reflecting a remarkable journey of modernisation.

This success is attributed to the Passport Service’s commitment to a digital-first approach, with over 97% of applications now handled through the acclaimed Passport Online platform. Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Helen McEntee TD praised the service’s professionalism and dedication, noting that more than 800,000 passports have been issued this year, providing excellent support for citizens at home and abroad.

In addition to the top 10 ranking, the Passport Service was honoured as the ‘Customer Champion in the Public Sector’, reinforcing its role in delivering high-quality public services. Minister McEntee also highlighted the launch of Ireland’s next-generation passport earlier this year, one of the world’s most advanced travel documents, which ranks fourth globally for visa-free access, enhancing Irish citizens’ international mobility.
