New consultant strengthens respiratory care team at UHL
The Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West has welcomed Dr Nasir Majeed as a new Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at University Hospital Limerick (UHL). This appointment follows closely on the heels of Dr Hammid Danish joining the respiratory team earlier this month, further reinforcing respiratory healthcare capacity in the region.

Dr Majeed arrives with a wealth of clinical expertise gained throughout his career in the United Kingdom’s NHS. His special interests include lung cancer and pleural diseases, alongside broad experience managing conditions such as asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and bronchiectasis. He emphasised his commitment to early diagnosis and patient-centred care for those across Limerick, Clare, and Tipperary.

In addition to clinical work, Dr Majeed has contributed to clinical research and patient safety initiatives, notably serving as Safety Physician for the Salford Lung Study, an innovative collaboration between the NHS and industry. Outside the hospital, he enjoys family time, fishing, and travelling, and looks forward to exploring more of the Mid West region.
