Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown council services disrupted tomorrow
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has announced that a planned industrial action will affect its services on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. As a result, all council buildings, including County Hall and all libraries—both staffed and self-service "My Open Libraries"—will be closed to the public for the day.

During the strike, the council’s main telephone line (01 205 4700) will operate only for emergency calls. Residents are advised to use online platforms available on the council’s website for any non-urgent enquiries, though some delays and changes in service are anticipated. Importantly, fire services and emergency homeless support will continue without interruption, and funerals at Shanganagh and Deansgrange will proceed as usual.

Access to certain parks and playgrounds might be limited, and all council-managed all-weather pitches will be closed. While Ballyogan Civic Amenity Centre will remain open, Eden Park and Shanganagh Recycling Centres will not operate during the strike. For emergencies, contact numbers are 01 205 4700 during office hours and 01 677 8844 after 5pm. The council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates public understanding during this period.
