Farmers urged to submit 2026 slurry spreading returns
Following the conclusion of the slurry spreading season on 7 October 2026, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has announced that the online portal for the 2026 Annual Declaration under the Low Emission Slurry Spreading (LESS) action of the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) is now open.

Farmers approved for this action within ACRES are required to complete their declarations via the Department’s MyAgfood.ie platform. These returns can be submitted either by the participants themselves or through their ACRES Advisors.

The deadline for submitting the LESS return is Monday, 2 November 2026. Failure to meet this deadline may delay the 2026 ACRES advance payment and could lead to the LESS action being rejected from the participant’s ACRES contract. For any questions regarding the submission process, farmers are encouraged to contact the Department directly.
