Enhanced Navan to Dublin bus services begin this October
The National Transport Authority has confirmed a significant expansion of the NX bus corridor, with the updated schedule set to commence on Sunday, 11 October 2026. This initiative introduces two additional early morning departures from Navan at 05:00 and 05:20, while increasing the frequency of peak-time services to every 15 minutes. These adjustments represent a 24% increase in overall capacity, directly addressing feedback gathered during a recent public consultation process involving over 80 submissions.

To improve punctuality, the service will adopt a new routing strategy within the capital. The inbound terminus will shift to Moss Street near Tara Station, while outbound passengers will board at Pearse Street. By bypassing Westland Row, Merrion Square, and Wilton Terrace, the service aims to minimise exposure to city centre traffic congestion. This strategic change is designed to facilitate smoother interchanges with DART, commuter rail, and local Dublin Bus networks, ensuring a more efficient transit experience for daily commuters.

Director of Public Transport Jeremy Ryan and Chief Customer Officer Allen Parker have both emphasised that these improvements reflect a commitment to meeting the growing demand for reliable regional connectivity. Passengers are encouraged to review the updated timetables and journey information, which are available on the official website. Both the NTA and Bus Éireann intend to monitor the performance of the revised route closely to ensure the enhancements deliver the intended benefits for those travelling for work, education, and leisure.
