Enhanced Navan to Dublin bus schedule begins this October
Commuters travelling between Navan and Dublin will benefit from a comprehensive service upgrade starting on Sunday, 11 October 2026. The National Transport Authority has confirmed a 24% increase in service levels, which includes two additional early morning departures at 05:00 and 05:20. Furthermore, peak-time frequency will be tightened from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes to accommodate growing demand.

Significant adjustments to the city centre routing are also planned to mitigate the impact of traffic congestion. The NX will now terminate at Moss Street near Tara Station, with outbound boarding shifting to Pearse Street. By bypassing Westland Row, Merrion Square, and Wilton Terrace, the service is expected to achieve greater punctuality and reliability for passengers. These changes were finalised following an extensive public consultation process that saw over 80 submissions from regular users.

Jeremy Ryan, Director of Public Transport Services, noted that the revisions directly address the call for more frequent and dependable connections. Allen Parker, Chief Customer Officer for Bus Éireann, added that the collaboration seeks to support those travelling for work, education, and health purposes. Passengers are encouraged to consult the updated schedules available on the official website before travel commences on 11 October, as performance will be closely monitored by transport officials following the launch.
