Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown roadworks and closures update
Road users in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown are advised to anticipate several road closures and traffic management measures from 31 October to 6 November 2026. These include ongoing utility works, maintenance operations, and preparations for future scheduled closures related to community events and infrastructure upgrades.

Current road closures include Torquay Road in Foxrock, closed daily until 1 November for gas works, and Brides Glen Road in Shankill, closed until 28 November for watermain installation. Temporary traffic arrangements also remain on Wyattville Link Road until 30 November due to the Beckett Link Road Project. Traffic controls such as temporary lights and lane restrictions may be encountered at various locations during maintenance activities.

Significant active travel projects are progressing, with the Dún Laoghaire Central Active Travel Scheme largely complete but minor works continuing until mid-November. The Dodder Greenway – Ely's Arch project is ongoing, with junction works and footpath improvements expected to finish by the end of 2026. Additionally, signalised pedestrian crossing upgrades are proposed at Cornelscourt to enhance safety and accessibility. Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and heed all traffic management signage throughout the county.
