Transport for Ireland (TFI) has introduced a fresh campaign titled ‘The TFI Network Works Later Than You Think’ to showcase the variety of evening and overnight public transport services operating throughout Ireland. The initiative encourages the public to take full advantage of existing late night and 24-hour options available on buses, trains, Luas, and TFI Local Link.
The campaign highlights how these services are essential for shift workers, hospitality and retail employees, and those attending events or social gatherings. In Dublin, 15 bus routes run continuously day and night, while Cork offers a 24-hour bus connecting Ballincollig and Carrigaline via the city centre. Limerick provides a 24-hour link between the city, Shannon Town, and the airport. Galway’s late evening connections extend to key destinations including Athlone and Ennis, with several towns such as Drogheda, Kilkenny, and Sligo also supported by evening and night TFI Local Link routes.
Jeremy Ryan, Director of Public Transport Services, emphasised the importance of these services in sustaining Ireland’s nighttime economy by facilitating safe, affordable travel to work, cultural events, hospitality venues, and social activities. To assist passengers, journey planning tools and real-time updates are accessible via the TFI Live app and the official TFI website, helping users to explore suitable late-night travel options in their area.
