Motorists and pedestrians in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown are advised to anticipate disruptions this week as several roadworks and temporary traffic arrangements take effect between Saturday, 17 October and Friday, 23 October 2026. These measures aim to facilitate essential infrastructure projects and events across the region, with details confirmed as of 4pm on Thursday, 15 October 2026.
A temporary 50 km/h speed limit remains enforced westbound on the Wyattville Link Road between Cherrywood Avenue and the southbound M50 slip road, supporting the Beckett Link Road Project’s underpass construction. This restriction will continue until 30 November 2026 or until the work concludes, whichever is sooner. Additionally, Gas Networks Ireland plans a temporary closure of Torquay Road, Foxrock, between Leopardstown Road and Golf Lane from 27 October to 1 November, operating daily from 8am to 6pm. Pedestrian access and local entry will be maintained, with clear diversion signage in place.
Other significant approved closures include sections of the Dublin Marathon route on Sunday, 25 October, from 9.20am to 4.30pm, managed by a comprehensive traffic plan and signposted diversions. Brides Glen Road in Shankill remains closed between Rathmichael Road and Mullinastill Road until 28 November for watermain installation. Night works, lane restrictions, and various utility projects—covering water services, telecom ducting, and reinstatement works—are ongoing at multiple locations, typically between 8am and 6pm. Active travel schemes like the Dún Laoghaire Central project are nearing completion, while the Dodder Greenway’s Ely’s Arch works continue with a permanent one-way system established on Dodder Road Lower. The Council also intends to install a signalised pedestrian crossing at the N11 Cornelscourt junction to enhance safety and connectivity. Travellers are encouraged to allow extra time and adhere to all temporary signage and traffic instructions. Further information on M50 works can be found via M50 Concession Limited.
