Motorists and pedestrians in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown are advised to anticipate multiple road closures and temporary traffic arrangements between 10 and 16 October 2026. A temporary 50 km/h speed limit remains on the westbound Wyattville Link Road to facilitate construction of an underpass as part of the Beckett Link Road Project, expected to continue until 30 November or until completion.
Gas Networks Ireland is set to close Torquay Road, Foxrock, from 27 October to 1 November for essential gas works, with pedestrian access and local entry maintained alongside clearly signposted diversions. The Council has approved road closures for the Irish Life Dublin Marathon on 25 October, with traffic management plans and diversions in place. Meanwhile, the temporary one-way system on Mounttown Road Lower will end on 14 October, restoring two-way traffic as part of the Dún Laoghaire Central Active Travel Scheme, which is due for completion by the end of October.
Other ongoing works include the closure of Brides Glen Road, Shankill, until 28 November for watermain installation, and various traffic management measures at multiple locations for utility, telecoms, and water services upgrades. The Dodder Greenway Ely’s Arch Project continues with permanent one-way traffic on Dodder Road Lower and expected completion by the end of 2026. A proposed signalised pedestrian crossing at Cornelscourt aims to enhance safety and connectivity for vulnerable road users. Travellers should allow extra time and follow all temporary signage and traffic directions. Further details and updates are available on the Council’s official website.
