Tyrone SFC final ends in thrilling draw
The Tyrone Senior Football Championship final saw Errigal Ciaran and Edendork locked in a pulsating contest at O’Neill’s Healy Park, culminating in a 0-15 to 1-12 draw. The match was decided in the dying moments when Darren McCurry struck a crucial two-point score in stoppage time to level the game and force a replay.

Errigal faced a significant setback before kick-off as key player Darragh Canavan was ruled out through injury, with his brother Ruairi also unavailable, weakening their attacking options. Despite being favourites and having the wind advantage early on, Errigal struggled to break down a disciplined Edendork defence. The first half proved frustrating, with Errigal managing only four successful scores while registering nine wides.

Edendork’s substitute Fiachra Nelis made an immediate impact at half-time, netting to give his side the lead for the first time. Errigal responded strongly with points from Peter Harte and Peter Og McCartan, regaining a three-point cushion heading into the final quarter. However, Edendork fought back with a series of scores, including two from McCurry, who ultimately secured the draw with his late equaliser. The replay promises to be an intense encounter as both teams remain evenly matched.
