Tralee CBS make historic hurling breakthrough
On Tuesday, Tralee CBS etched their name into Kerry hurling history by securing the Kingdom’s first-ever win in the prestigious Dr. Harty Cup. Their triumph came against the formidable 2023 champions, Cashel Community School from Tipperary, making the achievement all the more significant.

This success is the fruit of persistent effort led by coach Mark Ryall, who has tirelessly worked to elevate hurling standards within the school. Reflecting on the journey from winning Munster 'E' titles in 2018 and 2019 to this breakthrough, Ryall expressed immense pride and acknowledged the high calibre of competition faced.

The match itself was a thrilling contest, with Tralee CBS overturning a five-point deficit in the final five minutes by scoring an impressive 2-4 without reply to win 2-17 to 1-15. Ryall credited the team’s unwavering self-belief and years of experience playing top-tier opponents, emphasising the winning mentality instilled in the players from their first year onwards. The victory not only celebrates their skill but also the resilience and dedication that define this emerging generation of hurlers.
