Two arrested in Garda appeal referral investigation
A joint investigation by Gardaí has led to the arrest of a man and a woman following a referral from the Court of Appeal. The case file was forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions before charges were filed in Dublin this morning.

A comprehensive investigation conducted by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) reached its conclusion this morning after a case referral from the Court of Appeal in 2025 was fully examined.
Following the submission of a detailed file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, investigating officers moved swiftly to execute arrest warrants this morning. A male and a female were taken into custody and formally charged in connection with the inquiry.
Both individuals are scheduled to appear before District Court Number 1 in the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning, where legal proceedings will commence.
