Three babies, Morgan, Madison, and Junior, born prematurely at 32 weeks and three days, were discharged together from Cavan Monaghan Hospital following meticulous planning and expert care. Born just a minute apart shortly after midnight on 22 September 2026, the triplets weighed between 3 lbs 5 oz and 3 lbs 11 oz. Their mother, Samantha, and older sister Kayleigh expressed immense joy at welcoming them home after weeks in hospital.
Throughout Samantha's pregnancy, she received close monitoring from her consultant obstetrician, Dr. Murtaza Essajee, and a visiting fetal medicine specialist. Several weeks prior to delivery, a collaborative team of midwifery, obstetric, paediatric, theatre, and clinical engineering staff prepared for the triplets’ arrival, ensuring all necessary equipment and personnel were ready, including provisions for an early or out-of-hours birth.
When Samantha was admitted unexpectedly on 21 September, the hospital team swiftly activated their plans. The babies were delivered safely in quick succession, with the staff maintaining calm and coordinated care. The triplets stayed under hospital care until 12 October, when they were discharged. Laura Waters, General Manager, praised the collective effort of all involved and wished the family every happiness as they settle at home.
