Kildare invites views to shape its first safety plan
A public meeting took place in County Kildare on 1 October to launch a countywide engagement campaign aimed at shaping the county’s first Local Community Safety Plan. The initiative invites residents, businesses and community groups to share their views on local safety priorities through an open survey and consultation events, ensuring their voices help define the actions included in the final plan.

The campaign was introduced alongside the launch of the Kildare Safe and Connected Community Grant Scheme, a once-off funding opportunity supported by Local Property Tax revenues. The scheme will provide grants to community-led projects that foster safety, inclusion and positive engagement, helping to build stronger, more resilient communities across the county.

Chairperson of the Kildare Local Community Safety Partnership, Cllr Angela Feeney, emphasised the importance of public involvement: “This marks a significant milestone for Kildare, and we urge everyone to participate. Your experiences and concerns will directly shape how we address community safety through a coordinated partnership approach.” Further details on the survey, consultation events and grant scheme are available on the Kildare County Council website.
