Fingal County Council has invited residents, community organisations, businesses, and stakeholders to contribute their perspectives on community safety through a newly launched survey and upcoming public engagement events. The survey, open from 13 October for five weeks, seeks input from those living and working throughout Fingal to help shape future safety priorities.
This consultation forms part of the Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSP), a government initiative introduced under the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024, which replaced the Joint Policing Committees. The LCSPs bring together various community representatives, elected officials, and statutory bodies to collaboratively identify safety issues and develop practical solutions to enhance local wellbeing.
Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tony Murphy, encouraged widespread participation, emphasising the value of local knowledge in strengthening communities. Sinead Murphy, Director of Services for Operations, highlighted the importance of community engagement for the initiative’s success. Public meetings will take place on 22 October in Malahide and 28 October in Blanchardstown, offering opportunities for direct dialogue and idea sharing. Registration and survey details are accessible through Fingal County Council’s official website.
