Homes and businesses in Cherrywood, south County Dublin, are set to benefit from a major upgrade to the local water network aimed at improving capacity and resilience. This investment of €2.6 million will help ensure a reliable supply that meets the needs of current residents and supports future growth.
The project, part of Uisce Éireann's Growth and Development Programme, involves replacing 220 metres of water mains on the south side of Cherrywood Business Park and Brides Glen Road. It is designed to cater for approximately 3,300 new homes and foster social and economic development in the area by enhancing connectivity and flexibility within the water supply system.
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne TD praised the initiative, describing it as a vital step in modernising water infrastructure to benefit the community. Programme Manager Michael McManus emphasised the importance of the new mains in supporting sustainable development. Road closures on Brides Glen Road between Mullinastill Road and the M50 will take place during the works, which GMC Utilities Ltd. will complete by early 2027. Uisce Éireann thanks local residents and businesses for their patience and encourages engagement through its communication channels.
