New affordable homes launched in Tullow Carlow
Carlow County Council has announced a new affordable housing initiative at Railway Close on Shillelagh Road, Tullow, Co. Carlow. The scheme features two three-bedroom, two-storey semi-detached homes available for purchase through the council's Affordable Dwelling Purchase Arrangement, in line with the Affordable Housing Act 2021.

Interested applicants were advised to register on the council’s consultation platform before the application window, which opened on 28 August 2026 and closed on 18 September 2026. Applications were prioritised by submission time according to the council’s Scheme of Priority, with all details and registration accessible via https://consult.carlow.ie/.

The purchase price is determined by applicants' income and mortgage capacity, with the council retaining an equity share representing the difference between the market value and sale price. Buyers may repay this equity share over 40 years or upon selling the home. Eligibility criteria and further information, including the Scheme of Priority and documentation requirements, are available on Carlow County Council’s website at www.carlow.ie. Applicants are urged to carefully follow instructions to ensure their applications are valid.
