Respect the people behind Ireland’s public transport
The National Transport Authority (NTA), in partnership with the Government of Ireland, has launched a campaign urging travellers to recognise and respect the individuals behind the nation’s public transport services. This initiative seeks to remind passengers that every uniform and announcement represents a person dedicated to ensuring safe and efficient travel.

Across the Transport for Ireland (TFI) network, thousands of employees including drivers, ticket inspectors, customer service representatives, and maintenance teams work tirelessly to support passengers each day. While most journeys proceed without incident, occasional delays or disruptions can arise, during which frontline staff play a crucial role in assisting customers and managing operations.

The campaign encourages passengers to foster a more positive travel environment by showing courtesy, exercising patience during busy or disrupted services, and adhering to instructions that keep journeys safe. Recognising that staff members have lives beyond their roles and deserve respect can greatly improve the experience for everyone using public transport.
