Sligo University Hospital (SUH) will hold a special Service of Remembrance on Friday, 6 November at 7pm in St Anne’s Small Chapel, Cranmore, to honour families who have experienced the loss of a baby, child, or pregnancy. This poignant event marks three decades of providing comfort and reflection to bereaved parents and their loved ones.
The service’s theme, ‘Timeless Bonds’, highlights the enduring love that connects parents with their children despite loss. Julie Fox, Bereavement Support Midwife at SUH, emphasises the importance of this gathering as a sanctuary where families can share their grief in an empathetic environment. She reflects that remembrance knows no time limit, and every life, however brief, leaves a lasting imprint on those who loved them.
Following the service, light refreshments will be available at St Anne’s Small Chapel, providing an opportunity for families to connect and share memories. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be streamed live at https://mcn.live/Camera/st-annes-cranmore by selecting ‘Side Chapel’. Further information can be obtained by contacting Julie Fox at 087 1880834.
