An informal meeting of EU Health Ministers took place over two days at Dublin Castle this week, concluding today. The event, which ran from Wednesday until Thursday afternoon, was hosted as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Delegates arrived and departed through Dublin Airport, with normal operations maintained throughout.
Security measures remain firmly in place at Dublin Castle and surrounding areas, including road closures on Castle Street, Ship Street Little and Ship Street Great. These restrictions are scheduled to remain until 31 December 2026, though local access is facilitated where possible. Temporary parking and traffic restrictions were implemented in the Earlsfort Terrace and Charlemont Place areas on Tuesday evening, with rolling road closures managed by Garda motorcycle escorts to ensure safe passage for delegates.
An Garda Síochána has assured the public that policing and security operations are proportionate and designed to protect everyone’s safety. Members of the public are urged to follow instructions from Gardaí if they encounter any escort-related road closures. Real-time updates are shared via the Garda Press Office and official social media channels. Drone pilots are reminded to check the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) website for Temporary Restricted Airspace (TRA) and UAS Geographical Zone restrictions before operating.
