Upcoming webinar supporting joint health in the farming community
Arthritis Ireland and Teagasc are joining forces to host a special expert webinar designed to support the physical wellbeing of agricultural workers across the country. Scheduled to take place ahead of World Arthritis Day, the online event invites farmers and their families to learn vital strategies for preventing, identifying, and managing joint conditions that frequently impact rural livelihoods.

With musculoskeletal disorders representing a leading cause of disability and income loss in the agricultural sector, the session addresses a critical need within the community. Consultant Rheumatologist Dr Joe Devlin will join health specialists to explain why farmers face an elevated risk of developing joint problems, offering evidence-based guidance on protective measures. Attendees will also hear a candid, first-hand account from a working farmer who will share his personal journey of diagnosis, treatment, and adapting daily routines to sustain his career.

The free webinar will cover practical measures such as varying daily tasks, scheduling adequate recovery time, and investing in ergonomically designed equipment to minimise physical strain. Interested participants can secure their place by registering through the official website.
