Teagasc has published its National Farm Survey Farm Enterprise Factsheets, offering a detailed overview of the financial and technical performance across various agricultural sectors in Ireland. The findings cover milk production, multiple cattle enterprises, mid-season lowland sheep, and cereal farming, providing a granular look at enterprise-level production costs and market-based margins derived from over 800 participating holdings.
While agricultural input costs remained elevated following consecutive years of pressure, stronger output prices last year drove a notable recovery in profit margins for both dairy and cattle enterprises. Conversely, margins for cereal crops saw only a modest relative improvement compared to the depressed levels of the previous year, whereas sheep enterprise returns experienced a slight decline across the board.
Alongside the published factsheets, Teagasc has updated its companion Enterprise Dashboard to incorporate 15 years of historical data for deeper trend analysis. Stakeholders can access the complete National Farm Survey final report and interactive dashboards through the official Teagasc website.
