Teagasc has announced the return of its QQI Level 6 Course in Sustainable Farming in the Environment, offering agricultural professionals a vital opportunity to master climate-conscious management practices. Developed alongside the Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board, this programme seeks to equip participants with the knowledge necessary to reduce emissions and integrate modern environmental technologies into their daily operations.
The curriculum is scheduled to commence on 15 October 2026, featuring six intensive training days that blend classroom instruction with hands-on farm visits. Over the course of these sessions, attendees will utilise the AgNav digital platform to create bespoke sustainability plans, while also examining critical topics such as biodiversity enhancement and water quality improvement. The programme is specifically tailored for farmers, agri-business staff, and technical advisors who wish to align their practices with current sustainability standards.
Prospective students who meet the required educational criteria, such as holding an agricultural degree or a Level 6 Certificate with relevant experience, may be eligible for 70% funding, bringing the total course cost to €350. Those interested in securing a place are encouraged to visit the official Teagasc website for registration details.
