Dublin’s private sector maintains steady growth
The latest data from S&P Global's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) reveals that Dublin's private sector remained firmly in growth mode during the third quarter of 2026. The index recorded a figure of 52.0, comfortably above the 50-point mark that distinguishes expansion from contraction, indicating ongoing business activity increases within the capital.

This sustained growth extends a remarkable period of expansion that has now lasted for over three years, reflecting resilience amid global economic uncertainties. The PMI serves as a key indicator of economic health, and Dublin’s performance highlights its vital role in Ireland’s broader economic landscape.

Beyond Dublin, the rest of Ireland also experienced a return to growth, with the PMI reaching 54.0 during the same period. This solid rise in business activity outside the capital points to a strengthening economy across the country, suggesting positive momentum for Ireland’s private sector as a whole.
