Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke, T.D., today opened the eighth competitive call for the Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF), making €40 million available to ambitious enterprises and research partners across Ireland.
The Fund is designed to accelerate the commercial development of cutting-edge technologies through meaningful collaborations between industry and Ireland’s leading research institutions. Since its launch in 2018, DTIF has supported 131 projects with an average award of €4 million each, driving innovation in areas such as life sciences, artificial intelligence and environmental technologies.
Applications opened on 1 October 2026 and will close at 15:00 on 3 February 2027. Each successful consortium must include at least one SME, one other enterprise and a research partner, all based in Ireland. Projects must have a minimum funding request of €1.5 million and demonstrate clear commercial potential within three to seven years. Detailed guidance and application support are available on the dedicated webpage at enterprise.gov.ie/DTIF.
Enterprise Ireland will host regional ‘Disruptech’ events throughout October to facilitate networking and partnership-building between innovators, researchers and industry leaders. These gatherings provide an opportunity to explore collaboration opportunities and gain insights into the application process. The remaining event dates and locations are listed on the same official webpage.
The DTIF programme, administered by Enterprise Ireland on behalf of the Department, has already allocated €530 million to 131 projects under seven previous calls. These initiatives are aligned with the National Development Plan and aim to strengthen Ireland’s position as a global leader in disruptive innovation, fostering sustainable growth and high-quality employment across the country.
