Creative workshops invite residents to capture Mulhuddart through art
Fingal County Council Arts Office has unveiled 'Marks of Mulhuddart: Here & Now', an inspiring new programme designed to celebrate the local community through diverse artistic mediums. Funded by the Public Art Programme and hosted at Mulhuddart Community Centre and Parslickstown House, this initiative offers a unique opportunity for adults to engage with their surroundings through publication-related artforms.

The series kicks off on 12 October with a six-week photography course led by Beta Bajgart, an acclaimed filmmaker focused on social justice and human rights storytelling. Following this, renowned political cartoonist Harry Burton will lead a three-week illustration and comic workshop starting on 13 October, inviting participants to document current local events. Finally, from 16 October, printmakers David McGinn and Sophie Hanna Hayes from Black Church Print Studios will guide attendees through three sessions, allowing them to transform personal images of the area into professional-grade prints.

As spaces are strictly limited, early booking is essential to secure a place in these highly anticipated sessions. Interested individuals should contact the respective venues directly to register their interest. Those unable to attend this specific cycle are encouraged to reach out to the community centres to express interest in future artistic programming within the region.
