Route 24 bus service extended to Beneavin Road
The National Transport Authority (NTA), in collaboration with Dublin Bus, has announced an extension to the Route 24 bus service, which will now include Beneavin Road. This change, effective from 24 August 2026, is designed to enhance public transport accessibility for residents in the area, offering better connections to the wider Dublin Bus network.

Prior to implementing the diversion, the NTA and Dublin Bus conducted thorough assessments to confirm the feasibility and safety of the new route, including the ability of buses to navigate the turn from Glasnevin Avenue into Beneavin Road. The revised route will maintain all current stops while providing new access points for passengers living along Beneavin Road.

While the diversion is expected to add roughly five minutes to the overall round trip, it will not require additional buses to operate the service. Jeremy Ryan, Director of Public Transport Services, commented that the change will significantly benefit local residents by facilitating easier travel for work, education, healthcare, and daily activities. Passengers are encouraged to review the updated timetable and stop details ahead of the change.
