The Estuary Junction in Swords, previously known as the Estuary Roundabout, will see new traffic signals become operational from 10am on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. These signals will initially control vehicle traffic only, with pedestrian and cyclist signals to be activated at a later stage.
Following the installation, a bedding-in period of around two weeks will commence. During this time, Fingal County Council’s traffic signals contractors will be on site to monitor the system closely, adjusting signal timings as necessary to maintain a smooth flow of traffic while prioritising the safety of all road users.
Motorists and pedestrians are thanked for their patience and cooperation throughout this transitional phase. Further updates and guidance will be made available on the official Fingal County Council website as the project progresses.
