Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown roadworks and closures update
Road users in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown are advised to plan their journeys carefully as multiple roadworks and closures will affect traffic between Saturday, 24 October and Friday, 30 October 2026.

A temporary 50km/h speed limit remains enforced on the westbound Wyattville Link Road between Cherrywood Avenue and the Cherrywood M50 southbound slip road while construction continues on the Wyattville Link Road underpass, part of the Beckett Link Road Project. This restriction will stay until 30 November 2026 or until the works conclude, whichever comes first.

Among the current closures, Torquay Road will be shut from Leopardstown Road to Golf Lane daily between 8am and 6pm from 27 October to 1 November to allow gas works. Additionally, Brides Glen Road remains closed until 28 November for watermain installation, and Glenamuck Road’s closure between Brambledown and the Enniskerry Road junction continues with pedestrian and local access maintained. The Irish Life Dublin Marathon on Sunday, 25 October, will also necessitate temporary closures from 9.20am to 4.30pm, with traffic management and diversions in place.

Looking ahead, Military Road in Ballybrack is proposed to close temporarily on Sunday, 6 December from 2pm to 6pm for the Christmas in the Village event, with local access maintained. Kill Avenue near Ashgrove junction will also close overnight from 23 to 27 November for works linked to the Dún Laoghaire Active Travel Scheme. Observations or objections for these proposals must be submitted by 4 November and 11 November respectively.

Other ongoing projects include the near completion of the Dún Laoghaire Central Active Travel Scheme, continued construction on the Dodder Greenway Ely’s Arch Project, and minor finishing works at several school Safe Routes to School projects. Furthermore, a new signalised pedestrian crossing is planned for the N11 Cornelscourt junction, featuring upgraded signals, footpaths, and tactile paving to enhance safety.

Road users should allow extra travel time and adhere to all temporary traffic controls. For updates on works along the M50 motorway, information is available from M50 Concession Limited.
