Carlow town bus network review consultation launched by NTA
The National Transport Authority has initiated a public consultation regarding the local bus network in Carlow, inviting commuters, local businesses, and residents to share their perspectives. Submissions will be accepted until 5pm on Monday, 2 November 2026, helping to shape potential enhancements to public transport provision across the area.

First established in July 2023 and operated by Bus Éireann, the network currently comprises two primary routes, the CW1 and CW2. These services have recorded over 1.2 million passenger journeys to date, offering frequent departures every 30 minutes and connecting vital residential, educational, retail, and transport hubs throughout the town.

John Nott, head of service planning at the authority, noted that after three years of operation, it is an opportune time to evaluate the network's future direction. Further details and submission guidelines are available on the official website.
