Amey Infrastructure Ireland has been selected by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to deliver essential works on the Luas Overhead Contact System (OCS) as part of a new four-year framework agreement. Valued at around €5 million annually, this contract includes designing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning overhead line renewals, upgrades, and new installations across the entire Luas network, with an option to extend for an additional four years.
Cathal Masterson, Director of Commercial Operations at TII, emphasised the importance of this collaboration in enhancing light rail engineering and asset management capabilities. He noted that the initiative aims to renew the ageing overhead catenary systems to protect current services and enable future improvements across Dublin’s light rail network.

Ewen Morrison, Account Director Ireland at Amey, highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering these projects with minimal disruption, ensuring the Luas continues to operate reliably while supporting the system’s long-term resilience as Dublin grows. This appointment underscores Amey’s dedication to sustainable electric transit solutions and reliable infrastructure for daily commuters.
