GAA+ streaming platform marks significant growth in 2026
The year 2026 proved to be a milestone for GAA+, the GAA’s exclusive streaming service, as it broadened its reach and content offerings. With 40 championship matches broadcast exclusively across Ireland and an additional 180 accessible globally, the platform delivered unparalleled access to Gaelic games. The introduction of a state-of-the-art studio at Croke Park facilitated the production of 90 midweek analysis shows, enriching the viewing experience with fresh editorial perspectives and high production values.

Noel Quinn, Head of GAA+ and GAA Marketing, highlighted the platform’s flexibility compared to traditional television, noting that the streaming service adeptly managed overlapping fixtures and expanded its digital footprint. The studio launch was a pivotal development, allowing GAA+ to pioneer midweek programming and diversify its analyst panel, which now includes recently retired players and active stars such as Paddy McBrearty, Stefan Campbell, and Niamh Rockett. This fresh editorial style offers an alternative to existing broadcasters, providing fans with a broader range of insights and voices.

Subscriber feedback continues to guide GAA+’s evolution, with initiatives including nearly 30,000 annual passes distributed free to nursing homes and 5,000 to hospitals, alongside discounts for GAA members. A recent survey revealed positive trends in programming satisfaction, value, and streaming reliability. Looking ahead, GAA+ plans to maximise the use of its Croke Park studio by offering it for third-party productions and forging new brand partnerships, ensuring that the platform remains integral to the GAA’s coaching, development, and infrastructure support programmes.
