Fingal County Council has provided an update on the public realm works forming a key component of the emerging Swords Cultural Quarter. The comprehensive project encompasses street upgrades, enhanced landscaping, modern lighting, and a brand-new events space designed to foster a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly civic hub for both residents and visitors.
Construction activity along North Street has continued to progress under revised traffic arrangements. Northbound vehicles have been operating on the east lane stretching from the Bridge Street junction to the Courthouse, before crossing over to the west lane to navigate through the active zone. To accommodate this revised route, three parking spaces on the western side of North Street—situated between Hyper Goat Coffee and Meta Hair—remained suspended for a five-week period following measures introduced in late September.
Local authorities have emphasised that all surrounding businesses remain fully operational throughout the duration of the works, with continuous pedestrian access maintained to every premises. Further information detailing the schedule of works taking place across the district can be found by visiting the official website of Fingal County Council.
