Council shifts focus to clear autumn leaves
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has temporarily suspended its regular road sweeping schedules as crews shift resources to tackle fallen autumn leaves across the county. The annual programme prioritises areas with dense tree cover and high footfall, ensuring roads, footpaths and cycle lanes remain safe and accessible during the colder months.

Locations particularly vulnerable to flooding, busy junctions and heavily trafficked pedestrian zones will receive more frequent attention throughout the season. Members of the public can still submit requests for additional sweeping where needed.

Regular road sweeping schedules are scheduled to resume in February or March 2027, once the majority of leaf fall has passed. Residents can report streets requiring attention by contacting the Civic Hub on 01 205 4700 or emailing [email protected].
