Fingal County Council proudly unveiled the brand-new Naul Village Park, establishing a vibrant and inclusive community space right in the heart of the village for residents and visitors alike. Built at a cost of approximately €3 million with extensive local input, the facility provides an exceptional outdoor amenity tailored for people of all ages and abilities, creating wonderful opportunities for children to play, families to unwind, and neighbours to connect. The celebratory opening brought together public representatives, local organisations, and residents to mark a transformative milestone for the area.
At the core of the development lies a spacious village green, an inclusive playground, and a dedicated community garden space, complemented by tranquil spots for quiet reflection. The thoughtful design also incorporates new pedestrian access points linking seamlessly to the village centre and the adjoining residential neighbourhood, alongside enhanced pathways leading directly to the renowned Séamus Ennis Arts Centre. Key figures including Mayor of Fingal Cllr Tony Murphy, Chief Executive AnnMarie Farrelly, and Minister Dara Calleary praised the collaborative effort behind the project during the official launch.
Sustainability and biodiversity remained central to the construction, featuring rain gardens, pollinator-friendly plantings, retained local hedgerows, and recycled stone and timber features. Additional amenities comprise a cyclist rest stop, drinking water fountains, and secure parking facilities to support ongoing recreation and wellbeing. Further details regarding local council initiatives are available on the Fingal County Council official website.
