Laois County Council has welcomed the publication of the National Oversight and Audit Commission Local Authority Performance Indicator Report 2025, which delivers an independent assessment of local government standards across Ireland. The comprehensive review examines forty-six distinct indicators spanning eleven essential service areas, ranging from housing and regional roads to planning, environmental management, and economic development.

The local authority achieved standout results across multiple operational sectors, earning particular recognition for its exceptional delivery of social housing. Most notably, the Council achieved an average re-letting turnaround time of just over sixteen weeks, performing significantly better than the national average of thirty-two weeks and showcasing a dedicated approach to returning vacant properties to families swiftly.
