Cavan projects shine at national government awards
Cavan County Council has proudly secured four shortlist positions in this year’s Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards, a prestigious event celebrating exemplary local authority initiatives across Ireland.

The projects recognised reflect a wide array of community-focused achievements: the Created in Cavan Food Network is nominated for its role in promoting economic development; the cross-border Art of Life initiative has been shortlisted as a leading age-friendly programme; Dance Connects, also cross-border, is acknowledged for sustaining the arts; and the Council’s Oiliúint Gaeilge staff training stands out in the Best Irish Language and Culture category.

Cathaoirleach Cllr Carmel Brady expressed her delight at the nominations, highlighting the dedication of staff and community partners who brought these projects to life. Chief Executive Eoin Doyle praised the Council’s team for delivering close to a thousand daily services and emphasised that this national recognition underscores the high standards and positive impact of their work. The awards ceremony will take place on 26th November at the Crowne Plaza in Santry, Dublin.
