Orange rain warning issued for Dublin tomorrow
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has alerted residents and motorists to exercise heightened caution as Met Éireann has announced a Status Orange Rain Warning for Dublin, active from 2am to 8am on Friday, 23 October 2026.

Forecasters predict intense and sustained rainfall during this timeframe, raising the likelihood of localised flooding and challenging travel conditions. Low-lying and coastal regions are anticipated to experience the most severe impacts, with water pooling on surfaces potentially obstructing roads.

In addition to heavy rain, strong winds are forecast which could cause fallen trees, branches, and scattered debris. The public is advised to secure outdoor belongings such as bins, garden furniture, and trampolines, and to avoid driving through flooded routes. For emergencies including flooding or hazardous obstacles, contact the Council’s Out of Hours Emergency Service at 01 677 8844, or during normal hours call 01 205 4700 or email [email protected]. Staying updated with official weather bulletins and taking necessary safety measures is strongly recommended.
