Explore local wildlife with free biodiversity workshops
This October, nature enthusiasts and curious minds alike have a wonderful chance to deepen their connection with Ireland’s rich biodiversity through two free workshops. Organised by Rathfarnham Village Tidy Towns in collaboration with South Dublin County Council and IPB Insurance, these events will showcase the natural treasures found within local parks and waterways.

The first workshop, a Native Irish Bird Walk & Talk, will take place at Sean Walsh Memorial Park in Tallaght at 12pm. Participants will learn to identify various native bird species, understand their behaviours, and appreciate their vital roles within our urban green spaces.

Later in the afternoon, at 3pm, the River Biodiversity Walk & Talk at Dodder Valley Park will reveal the hidden life of the River Dodder. Attendees will explore aquatic habitats and participate in a water quality test, uncovering the fascinating creatures that thrive beneath the river’s surface. Suitable for all ages, these community events offer a unique opportunity to celebrate and protect our local environment. Booking is essential due to limited spaces.
