New water sports hub and toilet upgrades planned for Killiney
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is inviting public input on ambitious proposals to develop a new water sports facility at Killiney Beach, supported by Fáilte Ireland. The development will include changing rooms, showers, lockers, outdoor showers, and a covered training area to support water-related activities.

In addition, the existing public toilets at Killiney DART Station and Beach Car Park on Station Road will be upgraded to improve accessibility and overall user experience. The project is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring solar panels, landscaping works, utility connections, and a covered pedestrian walkway.

The public consultation period runs from 30 October to 14 December 2026. Residents, community groups, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to share their views. Feedback can be addressed to David Lawless, Tourism Officer at Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, with reference to "Fáilte Ireland Facility for Water Based Activities PC/TOU/01/26" included in correspondence.
